First wheel damage ever Pics added

Been on the roads bikes and car since 1978 and never have I damaged a wheel and tyre like tonight ( only through my own stupidity!!!! before). Sorry ASKER thats the front wheel fecked by the looks of it tyre has a golf ball sticking out the side. Gonna take some photos in the day light of the road and then claim against the council or roads people,

Any one ever done this before ? :sick:

As far as I'm aware, you can only claim if the pothole is marked with white spray paint, correct me if I'm wrong people :)
A friend of a friend did it a few years back, they seem speedy to paying up back then, but judging how the roads are now and the budget they have, it maybe more tricky?

I did what you describe to a tyre on my Peugeot in 2001.  I hit a kerb that was sticking out into the road.  No pothole involved.

Theres loads of websites about claiming out there, try google for lots of info. IIRC they have to not know about the hole.

Yes, did mine last year, gutted as well ..

I put the claim form in and just got the "Bog Off" letter a few weeks back, seemingly the next step is you have to take them to court, life's to short..

Cheers guys, I'll find out when I get the new tyre if the wheel is shot, I will claim and keep pushing I've nothing to loose and they have everything to loose if I win...

Will do, I'm hopeing that the wheel is ok and its just the tyre, can't see any damage but it could be warped/bent
