If you're actually in the market for a new GTI, then the ED35 looks okay, depending on how much they charge for it.
But it's not got any drop dead gorgeous features that would make you want to sell a kidney for one.
I guess if you're going to modify your car further it'd make a good proposition, but then again the standard 2.0 TSI re-maps pretty well so even then it's only marginal unless you're chasing really big power. And if you are doing that you may as well plump for an ED30 as that won't have a warranty that you'll be paying £15k extra for and immediately flushing down the toilet.
So in short, the ED35 looks nice enough to my eyes, but not that nice (especially if you fit the Glandales as they can be ordered on a normal GTI anyway). Good run out model, subtle enough to make a difference to those in the know, and for those that aren't, they can still see its GTI 'heritage' and won't care anyway.
