They look the same to me Snoopy, maybe just cos they're on a light colour? those black wheels are the Glendale ones according to the German configurator. Just specced one up, White, 5door DSG, Glendales, RCD 510, camera and MFSW,
35,000euro thats just over £32,000.
The equivelent GTI is 30,875euro or £28,250 so £3750 difference!

Anyone who feels that the Ed35 is worth that extra amount needs to have a vacation in Libya.

People will still pay the extra for an Anni

Plus you've got to allow the extra £1100 for the xenons on the normal GTI which are standard on the German ED35.

I reckon a 3 door Ed35 will end up costing around £28K. When you consider that a basic GTI with xenons and 18's is around £26,700 that would be less than 2K extra.

On a separate topic, I noticed that the standard GTI/GTD come with darkened R LED tails in Germany, rather than the red ones fitted in the UK.

It looks like its glands are swollen from that angle too. I'd like to say I quite like the car but I can't, and then I think of its likely cost and really really really can't.

Okay, I do like it a bit

My copy of Volkwagen Driver mag has plopped through the letterbox and in it is a mention that VW are whizzing an ED35 over specially for GTI International on the Sunday. Sadly the other Worthersee specials are tied up elsewhere racing.
It'll be interesting to hear what people think of it who've seen it in the metal. I've asked my wife if she'd mind moving her birthday this year but so far have been unsuccessful with negotiations......
