^^ yeah yours will be a digifant. you can short out the switch by jamming a paperclip in it, can't remember exactly how but i did it as a quick get me home fix when mine went tits up. but they only cost a few quid anyway.

what do you mean how does the paper clip thing work my fan today whent of when it was hot and then i relised that it dident got of aftrer i cam back 5 hours lately

oh i see what you mean(i think) so your fan doesn't shut off? that sounds like a short somewhere. sorry i thought you meant you wanted to see it was working.

well it only did it today and when i pulled the fuse out then put it back in the fan dident go of as the egine was not hot or on im gone to see what happens tommorw when i drive it then leave it hopefully its just the once but ill tell you what happens thanks for your post

Yeah, that sounds like your fan switch is knackered. You could do a com check on it, see at what temperature the switch is closing and then at what temperature it is opening but by the sound of it its not opening anyway so you might as well replace it.

ok cheers im gone to get a new fan switch that mite do the trick can you only get the switches from vw or can you get them anywere and whats the rough price on one of them thanks

Just looked at GSF car parts. They can do it for less than a fiver. Eurocarparts will be the same so you could try Stuart.

sorry about adding this problem on here when i reverse it makes a noise if the reverse gear going and what noise would it make if it was going can anyone help
