A little update, been a slow couple of months.
I've started a PGCE, and this means no time to do anything !

But here's what I have done.
During the snowy weather the alternator and the battery decided the car didn't need any electrical power anymore.
Both failed on my way to my school after being stuck in a traffic jam for 3 hours and the car ground to a halt.
Luckily some kids in one of my classes and another teacher were passing and helped me push it into the car park.
Recovery guy that evening said it was only the battery, but after changing it (warranty ftw) the car died again in a services.
As its an Air con car it runs the larger 90A alternator, which was a bit pricey.
On the brightside though....
For Xmas, I bought myself a Dodo Juice Buff Daddy polisher, and set about attacking the Golfs paintwork.

Hex logic pads and meguirs compounds as recommended by Waxamomo

Then it was time to tape her up

Don't think i did too bad a job

Shiny
Took the golf to an all jap meet with some friends, was the cleanest car there !

Then about a week later, the car was re-ended by some twit in his company insignia. Bad times
Luckily the damage was only to the rear crash beam, everything else is as straight as it left the factory. Winning.

Other than that, I got the wheel alignment redone. Toe was 7mm out on the nearside. OOOPs

End of this month the old girl may be for sale.
I have a JDM itch I need to scratch, and whilst the Golf has been a good companion, I think its time for a change.
Hopefully someone will buy her and keep her going as she is mechanically sound....
