You can wire the main beams to work without changing the BCM as I have, not easy to explain though.I can help you with your no fogs / main beam warnings too
ive recently bought a golfmk6 tsi its had a golf r replica kit put on .which included the oem xenons and dlrswhen i switch car on i get light errors , rear/front foglights and main beam not workin although they do the only thing that doesnt work is the high beam on my lightsit seems like a electrical prob or mayb they have hooked up lights wrong.can anyone shed light on this issue

ive just thought , if i buy a pair of standard head lights would the high beams work it seems like it would save me alot of hassle and money
