Do you not hide your dock Shady? Mine only comes up when my pointer is down the bottom. That way I only have the top bar and that's teeny.

x2 I just need to clear my desk top, what i reallyl need to get is an external bloody hardrive so i can just dump all my contents onto that and clear the MAcbook, its got to the stage now where I really should upgrade the ram( talked to shady about this awhile ago) and any time i do work put it on the hardrive right away

I don't like having the dock hidden, as I regularly switch between apps, and I find there is a slight delay (very small admittedly) when hovering the mouse down the bottom of the screen. I guess I should take advantage of the 4 finger app switcher using the trackpad.

How much RAM were you rocking again? 2GB wasn't it? I'd definitely get 4GB as soon as you can, check Crucial.com and see how much it will be for you MacBook (easy to use checker they have on the site). I'm contemplating upping mine to 8GB.

With more and more 64Bit apps, 4GB Is pretty much the standard these days, SSD would give you a massive improvement esp given the archaic 5400 rmp drive that comes as standard 

Personally I run 12GB on the desktop and 4GB on the laptop

I've got one of the latest MacBook Pros, I understand SSD will make a massive improvement in terms of boot time, application opening times and opening files, however the price per GB is crazy, so I'm going to wait until they come down so I can get a decent size for not crazy money.

I do have a 7200rpm HDD which is noticeably faster than the 5400rpm drive, but SSD would be a much better choice.

hahaha well mine is just a Macbook but I may consider a pro as its soo much bigger!!! wonder if they do a trade in / upgrade although mine has a few minor marks on the outside.

but yeah had that cruial thing have a look from when i spoke to you last about it Shady and yeah running 2GB need 4GB

I've never really utilised Spaces, again, something I should try.

Stink, if you got the 13" MacBook Pro from the new line up, they are twice as fast as last year's MacBook Pro 13" model. My 15" 2.0GHz i7 is faster than most of the current range of Mac Pros!  Even though the new i5's used in the 13" are dual-core, they are still extremely fast, but I would advise a 15" quad-core if you can afford it, and upgrade to a  high-res screen as well.

No they won't but you could get good money for it on eBay.

As for you apps etc just get an external HD then back it up with timemachine. Turn on new machine, restore from timemachine. Job jobbed.
