Hi all, I am a new owner of a V5 and I wanted to ask folks opinions on an issue - the engine management light is on and after reading near endless posts about the various sensors needing replacing I am a little lost.
I have had the car on a diagnostic reader at my friends garage and the code 17748 came up which is incorrect correlation of 2nd cam I believe. The garage has confirmed that the sensors look to have been changed recently and the throttle body is new. The car has done 98k and I understand that the chains, tensioners, guides etc need checking around this time? - also that the oil pressure needs checking to ensure the correct pressure is there for the tensioner??
Symptoms;
The car accelerates very smoothly with no flat spots, misfires or hesitation - also there is no metallic knocking / roughness or evidence that the chain is slapping etc - the only noticable thing is a slightly lumpy idle which goes away when the climate control is switched off.
I understand that the V5 does have a slightly heavier idle that the 4cyl models on most occassions and my post might seem as if I am grasping at straws however the fault code concerns me as it could potentially be a chain replacement which is an engine out job as I understand it.
Can anyone shed any experience or thoughts on the matter - the garage has advised to run the car a while and monitor for changes etc - perhaps this is a good idea as I have only had the car for a few days?
Any help is appreciated.
Cheers
