Door catch question
« on: 14 March 2005, 18:52 »
Quick question; will the catch from a 3 door fit a front door on a 5 door?

Cheers.

Sweet, thanks.

Final thing, can someone hit with a rough how-to on fitting them? Is it as simple as unbolt -> remove -> replace -> bolt on or is the process a little more challenging?

pretty much as you say!
undo the two allen key bolts
pull off
get knew one
line up relevant sliding parts (you'll see what i mean)
push into place
do up bolts

the most awkward part is hooking the wire from the inner door onto the sprung clip on the catch. its not too fiddly but you can slide a small screwdriver up through a hole from below the catch to keep it from moving too far. as you pull away the old catch if you do it slowly you'll see the wire on the sprung part at the bottom of the catch so you'll know what i'm on about.
team grumpy....... its a way of life, not a forum post
