Idling issue 1.8t

Hey guys and girls.

Today i started my car (1.8t) after taking a short trip to halfrauds and when i started her up she reved up normally then dropped well past normal idling speed and cut out. I tried again and the same happened. Gave it a rest and tried again. Reving a bit until she eventually idled normally. This has happened once or twice before and is starting to worry me. Has anyone got any ideas? It does seem to be after i've driven a short way and it hasn't come up to temperature. I do need to fit a new thermostat (temperature drops randomly when driving) but shouldn't have anything to do with it.

Any ideas? Ive heard things about needing a new dump valve. Even tho mine was replaced last year.

Still need to check. I was umming and arrghing if it was worth getting one of these cheapy cables off ebay and a copy of vag com.

get the fault reader of ebay well worth it mate for the price saves messing around with garages etc

Which engine code do you have? Could be a number of things tbh temp sender, TB clean, MAF.

That reader also comes with a book of the Most popular codes not all of them though.
