Balls to that!Ive worked to hard on this thing to destroy the underneath.its mint under there

I will see how it goes on its 1st run but if it starts buggering stuff up i shall either fabricate a load of skid plates or buy some 17's and raise it a bit.
Guess im just not scene enough to warrant destroying my car

I would go for a skid plate straight off, not worth the 'if/when' you know it makes sense. Not like it will be driven anytime soon anyways!

It will be driven soon dont you worry. In fact i drove it today
Granted it was just to turn it round on the drive but still,i drove it

Archie im currently searching for a different splitter so i can go a touch lower on the front so theres no arch gap up front.
What are the common places for it to hit?I will knock some skid plates up for that area then.

Remember that when you put the VR6 engine in the sump will be sitting lower then the one in there now. Have a look under the car and see what is the lowest point?

Mine used to hit subframe and under the wings....

Poor girl looking well ropey before I sold it. major one was the sills really - it would get onto speedbumps then coming off the other side drop onto the sills  :lipsrsealed: And sometimes get stuck if it wouldn't pull itself off.

Tracking was well pis5ed because it couldn't be done. Camber was out. used to rub on the inside of the front inner arches.

Ah yeah!! Used to muller the front of the power steering pump too as that was the lowest part of the engine.  :lipsrsealed:

But it is fun.

Car is looking great :afro:

I do think that the front end needs to come down a tad, it's looking a bit high compared to the rear imo :undecided:

Yeah ive gotto come down another 10mm on the front dude,i set the rears where i wanted and when it came to doing the front i ran out of threads  :undecided:
So now ive got to whip the front struts off so i can strip the helper springs out

Also got to get some new bolts on the rear as ive realised the bolts i got with the spacers are radiused and not conical tapered,so i will get a measurement and get some ordered tomorrow.

Then in the morning im whipping the headlining out as its booked in at the retrimmers 1pm tuesday for its black suede covering. Also getting the rear door card speakers and some boot struts covered with the same material and a silvery cream stitching.
Once thats back i can fit the new black abc plastics and sun visors and then crack on with putting it back together.
