Thanks lads.
Jamie i will be building the engine up over summer ready for a winter install when i take it back off the road.
Until then i will be rocking 1.8ABS POWAAAAAH!
Ive got to chuck toughly £2k at the engine to get it how i want so i will buy bits here and there and build it up on the engine stand.

Dint really want to get lower but if im already dickhead low i might as well get the thing looking right.
Will have to 4x4 it for its mot though or my brother will chunter as it wont go on the ramp lol
Also got to leave enough room for the guys who are 4 wheel aligning it up for me to get there gauges on it.

Looking forward to getting it looking sparkly again.
Only thing left for the interior now is the headliner and fitting the new rear bench and door cards. Then thats it!!......for now

Remember that if you plan on dropping the ride height after the mot and wheel alignment the geometry will be out again. I'd get it set up once you've decided what height you want it sitting at.

Yeah i had thought about that but i was under the impression they would need to get gauges over the wheels and they would require an arch gap?
Or are they different to the normal supertracker type jobs?

they will need to get on top of the tyre's to fit the gauges.

After running a mk3 pretty low they are a bit moer fun with suspension travel.

Nothing like seeing the look on peoples faces bumping and smashing about though.

I'm pretty low, the only things i have broken are the sump plug (still holds the oil in) and have now got two holes either side of my splitter from constant rubbing on the speed bumps and well.. any bump!

Before i sold my 3.

Mot advisories included Damage to driver side and passenger side floorpans. Damage to subframe.

i had also worn away the heads of the king bolts that held the subframe in  :lipsrsealed:

It was a 1.4 so there were no sump issues, subframe hit first.

Oh yeah VR splitters were a no as well. They tended to get left places as they pulled themselves off on things.

GTI / CL splitter was ok though

Balls to that!Ive worked to hard on this thing to destroy the underneath.its mint under there

I will see how it goes on its 1st run but if it starts buggering stuff up i shall either fabricate a load of skid plates or buy some 17's and raise it a bit.
Guess im just not scene enough to warrant destroying my car

In the pic Wayne quoted it loooks ace man - looks really purposeful and useable. Sure low looks great, but it got a bit annoying at times.

Nothing like telling the gf to push you off a speedbump though.
