I'm not sure i'm confident bout swapping the whole seat bases tbh mate, still think it would be easier to chop whats already there. In other news we may soon have matching wheels ;-)

Good man,get them bought. They will suit your cr more than mine, they look really well on mk2's.

I shall scrap them then as ive got to do a tip run as the missus had a meltdown yesterday as she found all the car parts i was saving behind the shed,so unless someone picks up a full set of mk4 suspension,a grey leather interior a ford puma front bumper a gti slam panel and a mint mk3 golf wing by this afternoon they are off to the tip.

She also said it's unhealthy for me to stop in the garage working on engines while midnight.Im just waiting for the inevitable "it's me or the car" speech............im probably gunna miss her

Nice work. I have a similar issue with mine, new seats, they look good but am unhappy about how high they sit now on the rails they came with... I have a Recaro rail from a previous seat that mounts differently and looks like it will work with one of my current ones.  down side is that it may mean I end up with the drivers seat lower than the passengers.  :undecided:

You just need to find a better hiding place now! Tell her you'll sell the bits in good time, and treat her with the money, that way you'll buy yourself some time!

From the stories you have told me, your time is running out!

This is the same man that decided to use the 50% off voucher to get a nice canvas of his car, rather then of him and his missus in spain.. like she wanted..

You must have a big wang, or lots of money!

Mine is the same,im having to alter the subframes im fabbing up to make the passenger seat sit the same height as the drivers.

Right so ive got a bit more done on the seat subframes inbetween fixing other peoples cars(ive decided a friend in need is a pest)

While i had all the interior out i thought i would tetroseal the whole floor pan for a bit of added protection incase i keep the car for a few years.

Give the seat subframe a couple of coats of filler primer, quick rub down and then a coat of L041 Black(i had it in) and then a couple of coats of clear.

Job done

Ive got he other side tacked up and im gunna finish it off at work at the weekend. Then its a case of building the interior back up,deep cleaning the carpets and fitting the seats.
Next interior job is whip the headliner out to give to the retrimmer,i keep putting it off as im still mardy i flucked it up myself
Then thats the interior done.
Exterior done
Wheels should be back as soon as they get their finger out.

Then i shall stick an mot on it and drive it over summer while i build up the engine ready to go in over winter.

The head is currently getting a soaking in my parts washer. Then im to decide whether to go with big valves or not when i send it to get skimmed and port and polished.
