Car Alarm

This may sound a bit silly to some but i'll ask anyway 

I ordered my car with a car alarm but with a bit of playing around I havent managed to set it off to make sure it is working properly, so my question is: How might I set of my car alarm just to make sure it is woking properly?

Leave the window open, set the alarm then put your arm through the window 30 seconds later.

I thought the alarm came as bog standard?

It sodent come as standard in Ireland, it is a €300 extra.

Really? How can a 20k+ car not come with an alarm. I thought ALL cars came with an alarm and that alarms where as standard as seats. Blimey.

Yeah its silly, but on the plus side, cruise control and luxury pack does come as standard in Ireland
