you say you had them all welded up i need one maybe 2 of my front ones done how much did you get charged to have this fixed ??

It cost me the best part of £400 labour BUT! as i said i didnot just have them repaired i had the whole section cut out so there was no rust then i had the same section cut out of another mk2 with perfect jacking points then had that welded in and the seals rebuilt, its such a good job that they are now stonger than ever and also it looks oe which is what i wanted, not the cheapest or easiest way of sorting it out but i am abit anal when it come to my mk2

I've always used my proper jacking points - but that said, mine aint a rotbox :D

Rear beam, mid-chassis legs, front chassis legs, front subframe > body section are my supports of choice.

I put them wherever they're not in the way. Chassis legs are structural points - so anywhere on it is fine.

For the front, normally I go for the very front chassis leg where it meets the front x-member - jacking from the rear subframe/front x-member.

For the front, then I jack from the jacking points and support under the chassis leg at the middle/front.

For the rear, if I'm not working on the rear beam, then I support from the rear beam and jack from it.

For the rear, if I'm working on the rear beam, I jack from it and support on the rear mount points (not a great photo, don't have any others).

the Phirm did the welding work and it's not a repair panel it is a section cut out of another mk2 that was being broken
