Removing Clocks
« on: 04 March 2011, 16:14 »
Hey guys,

I've decided to have the VW touch bluetooth kit out of my mum's GTI, she doesn't use it and her new Blackberry disconnects all the time anyway,
After seeing the manual on how to install it, fairly simple stuff, plug and play really, but the dealership has wired the microphone near the top of the speedo/clocks, so I assume I'll have to take these out to get to the wiring, what happens if/when I do? Any warning lights, issues with immobiliser etc?

Cheers,
Dan.

I really like the sound of your mum.
Perhaps you can put in a good word in for me for her to consider an older sophisticated gentleman to strip her car further?
Might I also mention that I successfully use a Blackberry Bold 9700 in my Golf, which might go some way in helping my case.

Haha Asker, the GTI was only bought because it was white and 'it looked nice'
she'd have anything :P
Yeah, she's got the new Torch and it just goes dead weird, the phone goes really slow for some reason? :S

Asker - do you know someone?! ;)

Danny - can you grab a quick photo of the mike location - I can't imagine they removed the clocks to install so shouldn't need to do this to de-install?

Adrian, it's right in the centre of the curved part above the speed, above the MFD, it's just stuck underneath, pretty much inline with the driver when he/she speaks, the wire looks to go behind the clocks?

Just had a look, they've just used a trim tool to push the wire into the gap :) depends where it goes from there .....
