rear caliper carrier bolts

hey guys, im in the middle of changing my rear discs and im having trouble getting the 2 8mm allen head bolts out that hold the caliper carrier in place, i have done a search and seen that many people use the irwin  bolt removers i was just wondering if anyone new what size i would need so i can get the right set.

Not sure. I think one from either set should work.
I would just buy both sets.

i had this prob on my mk2 ibiza , i used a chisel and lump hammer to free the bolt , and replaced with hex bolts

as above! i used hammer and chisel to remove lower one and had drill the top one out...horrible job,got replacements form vw £1.50 each

I use wd40, a allen key and a bar to fit over the allen key for leverage. I don't find that hard of a job to be honest

thanks for the help, i used the irwin method  worked a treat. done the one side then ran out of time, ill tackle the other tomorrow!

I never understand why people chisel or drill the heads, when there is such an easy alternative

when you only have one car with a wheel off and the nearest place to buy such things is miles away , you tend to try all sorts of crazy things
