Hi every1,i have a problem with me rev counter..it all works fine wen running,the problem is wen braking to slow down..the rev counter goes all crazy and looks like the engine cuts out but it doesnt cut out,i recently changed the bulbs in the cluster..could this have anything to do with the problem.when i got the car it needed new front disks,the previous owner kept driving it wiv the disks all worn down,could this have damaged anything like wires...i dnot no and this is doin my head in so any help would be much appreciated...thanks and hope to hear from sum1 that knows how to fix this problem

ok, difficult to read..
i very much doubt it has anything to do with the rev counter, that is only showing you what is happening, use the search as i think you'll find it is a common mk3 ailment!
also telling us what engine/model/year would help ;)

i have used the search n no results found.the car is a 1996 mk3 golf gti 8v

Check and clean all the earths as a 1st step.

Seeing as you have just changed the dial leds, check you plugged the dials back in properly. It may be that there is just a loose connection on the plug and under heavy breaking, the contact is being lost a little on that particular pin. As its only happened since you replaced your leds, that may be a good place to start before freeking out!!
