today some progress.
cleaned the throttle body and lubed the throttle cable, seems more responsive now. sorted the annoying creaking noise from the rear parcel shelf with abit of felt too.

got an Alpine IDA-X305 courtesy of my man Adam. (cheers bud :afro:) found i have a speaker issue passenger side door though not sure whats goin on there but i will have a look at that again.

thats it for today, missus got me painting the house at the mo so didnt have time to fiddle with anything else!

well have had some issues lately, big ones!
firstly coming back from work it seemed lumpy and idle would drop very low and pick back up to around 900rpm then wouldnt start again after i got home, seems to be a fuel related issue.

after some advice from fellow tugboat owners i could see a few problems including the wrong airbox fitted and no MAF or air temp sensors connected up

maf i now have, no airbox though yet. have the air temp sensor courtesy of Khare (thanks agan :afro:)

my original thinking was it had been disconnected to fool the management system as the old owner put a straight through pipe on in place of the cat. after further investigation the lambda is connected up properly (one thing i guess ) but as mentioned maf etc missing.
the other thing to note is the knock sensor cable is fraid and has exposed wiring so i will replace this straight away. do people think its worth looking at replacing the hall sender as this could also be a potential problem area and for around £12 its an easy fix?

problem now sorted! maf solved most and a new coil solved another!

been trying to sort a leak today on the water flange on the head, disconnected everything and thought (hopefully) i could get away with just replacing a perished seal. got the system drained and the part off and found it looked like this....

as you can see there is some damage to the pipe inlet (the white area) and is leaking around the studs it seems. so i replaced the o ring and put some high temp gasket around it to try and seal the damaged face as i would have to order a new part. got the car upto temp and was pretty pleased to see no leak! took the car out abit later on and pulled up to check again and the leak was back!

so new part ordered from GSF along with a gearbox mount as the engine is shuddering when pulling away and after giving it a prop under the bonnet it DEFFO needs replacing.

new parts!!

mount which 'should' sort the engine thats currently trying to escape!

water flange to replace the old one thats had its day. although this one from GSF has to be blanked off on one of the switch holes im unsure about whether thats going to have any leak issues or not! we shall see!
