does the abf require moving of the engine mount brackets?

only if its a 1.0-1.3 shell, same as putting any big block into 1.0-1.3

mines a 1.5 so guess they have the same mounts then

1.5 has big block mountings so abf will drop right in, unbolt 1.5 engine brackets and bolt to the abf. just need to trim timing belt covers a bit, are you goinf to use the 1.5 or other mk1/2 gearbox?

No real plans yet, just looking at it as a slightly easier conversion if I decide to change the engine.

Yes in a way, bike or webber carbs would be ace however but will be juicy.

as i say this isnt a definate plan although if i do decide to change the engine it will be to a 2.0 16v, would like to run it on itb's if i did. remeber this car is only a weekend toy so things like mpg/practicality just dont matter :smiley:
