Is there an easy way to tell if the advertised TDI GT 150 is a genuine 150 and not a 130 advertised as a 150? As there seems to be a lot of this going on. Iv put a few registration numbers of autotrader into free car check ect and they are listed a pd130's and not 150 so I'm not sure is the database they are using is incorrect or what.

Only way is to check the engine code.  Ask the seller this or get them to take a picture of either the front of the service book where the codes are listed, the sticker in the spare wheel well or the tag on the engine block itself

If there are pics of the engine bay then you can tell from that as the 150 pipework wraps back around the front of the engine bay

Or go for the 130 and get it remapped.

How do you actually go about checking the engine code once you have it?

Got any picutures of both engine bays so I can see the difference?

At least with a 130 you don't get camshaft problems

or i could just go for a 150 and get that remapped!

I want the 150 I see no point in going for second best!

The car I buy has to be a genuine TDI pd 150 fully loaded with full factory fitted leather interior....the works.....not gonna sell myself short on this no matter how long it takes to find a good one.

ASZ = 130

ARL = 150

130 engine bay (ignore the blue pipe; its black and plastic on standard cars)

150 engine bay

Again the metal pipes are plastic on standard cars but the route is the same

Hardly 2nd best  :rolleyes:

Good luck with your search.  Fully loaded 150's are few and far between unless they got galactic mileage

So does the 150 have a front mounted intercooler as standard.
