Full marks so far for not being one of those bores who comes along and says ''I need a bigger car because the pram I want won't fit into the Golf''

Can't give you any recommendations as my eldest is now taller than me so won't fit into a babyseat any more.

If anything Andy , i would have to get a 4 door mate but even that would be a Golf !!

We used a maxi cosy baby carrier that locks into an isofix base, works well and is very safe.

Max now uses a maxi cosy car seat that's described as the Sherman tank of baby seats - it's very safe and comfy too.

I can't wait for your new arrival Steve

We use the golf from time to time and the boot is a good size for prams and all of the other stuff :-)

You can borrow the isofix base if you like as we won't be using it again for a few years, I'd offer the carrier too but it's not "as new"

Actually 3 doors are easier when they are very small, you can perfect a movement which involves ducking, swinging yourself and young 'un into the car whilst perching your derriere onto the back of the folded seat putting you in a perfect position to do up straps easily.  :smiley

Agree with the others - maxi cosi and definately maxi cosi isofix base, the best £100 we spent! Beware of crap imitations i.e mamas and papas base!

Pram wise we have a Bugaboo chameleon which fits very well in the boot with plenty of space to spare
