Ecu immobiliser
« on: 11 February 2011, 17:16 »
If I plug another ecu into my car will the car start then cut out or will the immobiliser not let It fire at all? Got an ecu but can't get vagcom till tomorrow just wanted to try it.

hi mate, ive just changed my immob box and had to recode them, i am pretty sure itll just not start, and when you have vagcom youll see an error code relating to immob halting engine start etc

whats up with ur mk3?

Seen that mate got an ecu today think you can program them to immobiliser box with vagcom from what I've read on here.

It's not that hard to do, but u do need a registered version of vagcom to complete the process!
You would be best following the directions from Ross-tech site

Here's the link and post I got..

this is how you code a different ecu to your new immob box, just as it says near the bottom you click 'immobiliser' rather than 'instruments' in a mk3 :)

It will start and run for a very short time
