I've got a couple if interested - one came off my car as I have just replaced all my dash switches with new ones!!

I had a look at your ebay shop last night, I love that scale model mk2

Do you have any rear GolfGTI badges in good condition come your way often? Couldn't see any on your shop

If its the headlight switch your talkin about they're not all the same.. Using the wrong 1 may liven up an earth and burn that section of wiring out, plus more if you don't remove the battery quick enough. Check part numbers and pin locations on the plug and switch before you try it

Thats why he asked for an 11 pin one...

Yes you are correct other than most of them have the same part number it's the suffix (Last) Letter thats important... the 11 pin for dim dip cars has the letter M at the end!

I've had a few before Xmas but they have all sold - There aren't many "GOOD" ones knocking about at the mo...

The OttO Mobile model is just a stunning item, I have quite a few in my own collection, inc a Red G60... I would have kept one of the ED1's but I'm not that keen on the colour...

Oh right-cant say I've looked at the pins, I presumed they were the same amount and layout, just that the wires on the pins were different orientation. I just remember a mate pinchin my late switch for his early, saing it fitted, but it set fire to his car! Vw shouldve keyed them different or changed the pin layout altogether to stop them interchanging..

I think on the later ones they have, I ordered a brand new switch and it didn't fit as there is an L shaped locating pin that was reversed to the M version I should have ordered...

I suppose there must be a few differnt types then, think rj said hed seen at least 3 different types before..not good. The vw breakers I got my abf from said his mate lost his car to the wrong switch. My mates had no interior, and the bonnet was up with loose batt terminals so it was off in seconds..

as long as pin numbers the same its the right one, the other 11pin one mentioned above isnt really fitted to euro models. the other ones you find are earlier euro models which are 8 and/or 9 pin. if its same pins and it plugs in, you're laughing.

stupidly the earlier/late switches will still plug into early/late plugs, but your loom catches fire
