We have a problem. 

The STUD that is part of the bracket sheared on one side  aka



So, anyone removed and replaced the WHOLE bracket before

and also... on the front of that bracket that holds the wishbone bush in place... how are the bolts mounted... if they shear too are they easy to replace?

its only those 2 nuts that hold the bracket to the car

CQs only do the OUTER brackets according to the website RJ 

and to confirm, clean all the underseal off the 2 nutz and then the whole lot will come away ?

and more importantly, are they accessable inside if they start spinning ?

there is a replacement bracket in the wishbone kit that came from GSF

question is.. we got cautious and wondered what would happen should the bolts shear like the other ones did?

right then, excuse the dodgy arrows,

we have the BLUE arrowed  bracket in the kit

we need the RED arrowed bracket - or at least to confirm that it will come off when i drop the 2 nutz



cos if needs be i can remove the sheared stud and fit a nut and bolt

oh you know... couple of years... maybe... until the mk7 is out at least

Ok so I did what I could to see what the crack is as all my carpets and soundproofing is still out.

Firstly, if you go down the nut and bolt trick to reuse the bracket then i'd use something like this, possibly get it welded on if you know someone..



There's no clearance between the bracket and the floor for a normal bolt.

Secondly, as far as being able to replace the two studs with bolts should they sheer, i'd say good luck with that.  Looks like they are welded in studs with no access unless you cut the floor.  Sadly these studs are in a place where the floor splits into 2 skins leading up to the bulkhead.  There is a grommit hole in the interior floor skin by the heater matrix area as the floor ramps up to the bulk head, I can clearly see the second skin.  My advice, soak the sh*t out of the nuts with WD overnight and be very gentle with them when trying to undo.
