Exhaust size for 100bhp 63mm??
« on: 09 February 2011, 13:45 »
As the centre exhaust mount is shot on my motor, i was thinking of loosing the cat changing the down pipe. I'm unsure what size i should be looking at  :undecided:
I came across this site http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk/ withh a downpipe and de-cat but says for 130/150
Would anyone know what size mine is, any advice?

Thanks. :afro:

Cheer's Alex, I suspect all TDI's are the same bore size then  :undecided:
Have you only changed your downpipe and de-cat?

I had it fitted to start with to my stock system but about 2 months after i had a miltek system installed by a company in cardiff, made a noticable difference to performance, and sounds lovely when giving it some

Ok so my exhaust is now getting on my tit's with it's nice rattle against the underside of the car.
When I put a larger downpipe on and de-cat etc will i still need to get another centre exhaust mount/rubber?? or will replacing the exhaust system do away with this rubber mount??
Just need to wait for THS to get the downpipe back in stock.

Thanks. :afro:

Alex, I'm brassick atm personally, but how much are the Miltek exausts? Is it a full one you bought? How comes people are De-Catting them, thought the Cat is meant too keep the car running smoother?

I paid £80 for my miltek downpipe/decat off ebay, the rest of thesystem was £280 fitted. The cat is simply there to aid emmissions but isnt a legal requirement on a diesel car, it is the most restrictive part of the exhaust and makes a good noticable gain when removed, helps the turbo spool up that little bit quicker too.
