Different colour pads?
« on: 08 February 2011, 16:06 »
I was given a DA polisher & a whole load of products inc polishes & different colour pads!!
My question is what colour pads do what job?

Also do polishes & waxes have a shelf life? Thanks

what colour pads have you got and pics would be handy because theres so many variants.

if stored correctly your waxes and polishes should last you quite a while it all depends on there make up really. water based polishes tend to go off quicker than polishes with a higher solvent/oil content

Different manufacturers use different colours for different cut levels, get a picture up if you can and i'm sure one of us will recognise what make they are and be able to help.

Yeah the dial is definitely the speed dial - start off working the polishes at speed 2 or so, then after 1-2 passes ramp it up a couple of speeds for another couple of passes, then slow it down again once the polish has broken down. (Clear haze). I would be throwing the Polish in the bin, looks knackered to me!

Im sure the pro's will be along soon to help out with the pads

chuck the wonder wheels

pads look fine but wont be if you get grit in them from putting them on the ground, naughty naughty!!

poorboys stuff looks dead so bin those.

and regarding the dial it is a speed dial as said above.

you've got some good waxes there aswell and the klasse stuff pretty good aswell
