School boy error!!
« on: 07 February 2011, 19:24 »
I know I'm a tit before I get abused!!

I got a golf gti, 2.0 8v (2e engine code). I took the HT leads of the dizzy cap when puttin a new one on and for got the order they went back on....

Think I may have also tried to start the car with the leads on the wrong order so therefor the timings probably up sh*t creek bow aswell.

So basically could some one show/tell me the order it should fire and also how to adjust the cylinders so that if it is out of time I can put it back to normal!

Line it up TDC, with the marks on the camshaft pulley, wherever it is, that's number 1. Then go 1-3-4-2 in clockwise I THINK.

Anyone confirm?

Where all my moneys went.

Correct, number 1 being closest to engine wiring connector.

Why would timing be affected? You've not messed with the camshaft or the timing belt
