Looks like the winter weather has finally come, and with it comes the perils of owning an older car! Torrential rain this morning resulted in the car dieing on me on the way to work. With the help of a couple of puddles the size of the Atlantic which were unavoidable due to it being pitch black and on an unlit road, I had to leave the car on the side of the road, and get a taxi to work. Fortunately, the boss is ace so said "bugger off and get it sorted if you want" - Awsome! Not only that, one of my work mates was allowed off as well to give me a lift home! Suspected Dizzy as it looked soaked, so came home and got the spare one, with leads, a spare coil, and some WD40, and he dropped me to the car as well.  Got to the car and checked if it would start just in case, and it did! Had a bit of time with a warm engine drying it all out I reckon, so just took it steady home and now have the rest of the day off!
I think apart from an update from the MOT which is due next month, and possibly headlining in the next few months, this may be one of the last posts on this until the spring, and better weather me thinks.

MOT today, and it failed. Only a couple of little things though, high beam bulb on the drivers side has gone (should have noticed this), and I need a new headlight on the passanger side. The beam was off on this, as when I joey'd my headlights, I left this one in the oven a little too long and melted it!  :embarassed:. The mechanism wont adjust it now, and is too low, even when putting the drivers side to the lowest setting, they wont line up.  Not bad at all though, and no advisories which is a bonus. Get myself down to see Dan7 at DevonDubShack tomorrow as he usually has a few Mk3 bits lying around.
Also the new MOT Certificates are crap if anyones seen them. Just a white slip for pass/advisory/fail that all look the same, and the format is crap with really small writing which doesnt make sense to me.

MOT re-booked for next Thursday afternoon. 1 x headlight from LL, Joey'd and fitted. (Cheers dude!) And what was thought to be just a bulb, was actually corroded and sh!tty wires within the headlight unit (the other side ironically ). A bit of cutting back of the cable, and some new spades crimped on and jobs a guddun, I shall be safe for another year!
