a good cai

hey guys
i was wondering what would be a good cai to put on my 2001 golf aum 1.8 turbo
i have bought a forge splitter dump valve because i like the sound and was thinking of a cai to put on
is this one any gud?

or can anyone recomend a nice sounding one to make the turbo sound louder that isnt a stupid price

Loads of people using these and there good for the price.

I and a few others have cut the pipe down so filter sits next to battery instead of bumper.

Cone at bumper = cold air, less reponse.
Cone at MAF      = Hot air, quick response.
Cone at battery  = Best of both worlds IMO.

i run that 1 ashie had no problems cut mine down sits next to battery now with a cold air feed direct on it  :smiley: put a pipercross filter on mine tho

just bought the car and loving it
i always thought that the colder the air the better but is that wrong?

so do these come with instructions to fit it to show what goes where ?
or does someone have a photos handy

This is interesting, I've always been led to believe with VWs closed induction is the way forward... (panel filter and upgraded intake) in the jap world open cone is the way forward... Bill runs his 3" TIP with an open cone where the air box sat and boasts up to a proven 25hp increase on a k04.

Is the open setup really better than a panel filter and DSG intake? Might sell mine lol!
