Lowering question

Hey folks I'm lookin to lower me mk4 now I finally got my wheels , could just do with knowing how far I can go without heavy mods and what make you guys would recommend ?
I've got 18"wheels with 225.40.18 with et35 offset I've seen some really good lookin mk4,s where the edge of the wheel sits almost flush with the arch , trying to achive something along that line

Sorry if this Question has been asked a million times before and I really appreciate any info you guys can offer.

depends what your looking for really mate springs or coilies im down 40mm and no probs but would recomend slamming it down lower  :grin:you will then need to change arb and some other bits... sure one of the guys will help you on here

Probably just shocks and springs .slightly cheaper and tbh I don't really need coilovers !
So 40ml will be enough to reduce the huge tyre-arch gap I have now ?
I'm not too keen on using spacers however I've seen em mentioned on here quite a few times
and ideally wanna get the wheels sitting a bit further out so again what size are recommended ?

The offset is the critical number you should be looking at,to get an 8J wheel to sit flush up front would mean in your case you need a 10mm spacer,with the rear wheels your going to need 20mm spacers.

coilovers aren't that expensive, you can get Jom's or FK's for under £200

ive heard you need to spend big on decent colyles though? other wise there harsh

think im going uprated spring and shocks

I'm a bit put off by coilovers for less than £200 however it's worth lookin at Anyone got experience of these ?

Steer clear of cheap coilovers.

paid 200 for my coilovers of ebay came with adjustable droplinks, had no problems and is still a comfy ride

have FK street collies and paid 200 and I would say they are a great ride no complaints and trust me being a woman to complain about anything and its all thumbs up!
