nope. dont really know much about it my self, though ive been told chances are ive blown it, i belive its in the base of the arial (were the stick part of the arial screws into).

reason for asking is i wouldnt have a clue were to start looking, had a quick look on the internet and havent seen much about them.

although whats the difference between pc5-90  and pc5-91.

i always belived you needed the pc5-90. though thats the second link to pc5-91 that ive seen posted. 1st was on talk audio forum (someone had a mk4 golf and wanted some help with something) and then you have posted that, could just be i do need a pc5-91 and that i got it wrong and that the other 4 or so people who have told me to buy a pc5-90 got it wrong.

you definitely need the pc5-90 for a mk4 golf
the antenna amplifier is not in the base of the aerial
any vw from 95 onwards needs some form of antenna booster/amp and this is the correct one for yours

i have a pc5-90 installed at the moment and still getting utterly crap signal.

anyone with a mk4 who lives in the darlington or middlesbrough area fancy doing me a favor and quickly removing the head unit one night so i can plug mine in see if it works in your car if not i know that its defanitly the head unit and can be sent back, if not then i defanitly know its something with the arial/arial circuit.

also had a bit of a look around on the internet, i dont know if its a small amplifier in the base of the arial but theres defanitly a circuit in there and theres a few things about them being replaced, and sorting out  crap signal.
