Starting & Cutting Out Still

help...... again please???

i have had some starting problems on my mk3 gti 8v
it will start & suddenly cut out, it does this about 3 or 4 times before it starts ok
i was advised it may be the ecu relay (no30), so i bought one and changed it
but it hasnt made any difference

any more ideas more be a great help

what engine code and year is it

its a 94. not sure about engine code.
where would i find that?

prob easier to get us the part number off the ecu. basically i suspect theres a problem with the factory immobiliser, though usually its only on 96 cars. but if we can get part number off ecu that'll confirm it either way

other things it could be is damp in the dizzy cap or leads, faulty cap arm or leads, faulty coil, or maybe a dodgy crank sensor.  its worth cleaning out the throttle body as well

new dizzy cap & arm
new plugs
t/body & air intake all removed & cleaned out

it does have symtoms of immobilisor, but i dint think it had one?

sounds like a sensor, dose it cut out when hot and wont start until it as cooled down

it does either when first started, or if i drive up road to shop, stop it, then it does it again.
so it does hot and cold really.
