mk3 gti 2.0 8v 1997 wont idle!!!!

hi all, i am struggling with my golf now!!!

will only run with foot on accelerator, soon as i come off it stalls, the accelerator cable under the engine bay where it goes onto the inlet, the what i can only think is the idle controller or something is constantly moving and not setting itself,

ANY HELP WOULD BE SOOPER!!!

Check all your vacuum/breather pipes for splits. Sounds like you've got an air leak somewhere to be honest!

clean the carb with carb cleaner loads of it and see how that goes my have carbon build up

Problem there is it doesnt have a carb.

depending on the engine, he probably doesn't have a ISV either.
