Front shocks are ok. Did the front top mounts about 18 months ago and the bottom ball joints about 5 months ago.

The rears are proper fooked though.. Its still bouncing 2 miles down the road after going over a bump and it really twitches.. Feels like it slides a tiny amount into the road camber.

I know they're not great to start with but its getting to the stage where 60mph + doesn't feel safe with it twitching like it does on bumps.. Go down a pothole doing 30mph and its scary !!

I hope so... She needs a few things doing of late.. All just wear and tear items like the rear shocks, rear discs and pads need doing next. Did the front discs and pads at the same time as the bottom ball joints.

Fitted the new bump stops, shocks and top mounts. It sorted the twitching rear end out and is well tight now which is great.

However every time I have someone in the back and go over a bump theres a squeek from the rear shocks. I took them off to try and figure out what was causing it so put a bit of grease on the top plates incase it was them but its still there. It sounds like its the bump stops making the noise when they slide up and down the shock making a squeak.

Im wondering have I put the shock back together correctly regarding the bump stop and protective sleeve even though it looked really simple (the old one was in bits) or am I supposed to trim the bump stop?

You should only trim the length down of the bump stop down if you've fitted lowering springs.

As Thai said only if it is lowered, if you shorten it you run the risk of shock damage.

Any idea what it could be then thats squeeking.. When I refit the struts I lower the car back down on its wheels before tightening the top bolts up in the boot.... Am I right in thinking they shouldn't be done up too tight and just tight enough to bite....
