Seatbelt chime
« on: 24 January 2011, 08:22 »
I know it is possible to disable the seatbelt warning altogether, but I wondered if there was an option to have the warning light without the chime? I have a long driveway and like taking off the belt - the chime is driving me up the wall.

I see on VAGCOM there is the option for warning types 1, 2 (default), 3 and 4. I tried 1 and it refused to take it and I am currently on 3 (still chime). Have not tried 4, but will later. I don't even know what the different types mean!

Does anyone have experience of this?

Indeed! I'll just have to disable the warnings altogether or try Type 4!

Go to local wreckers. Cut the seatbelt clip off a piece of sh!t. They are all the same I believe standard safety fit on all cars. That'll stop it and not void your insurance / warrenty .
