Knock knock knocking!! Help!!

P reg Gti anni,
2 visits to a local garage having clutch, cable and seals sorted due to slipping clutch....expensive.
After 2-3 days of having it back, I recently selected 5th gear and a knocking noise began, i moved down the gears then back up to 5th and the noise began again?

Gear box knacked? Hope not, any ideas and remedies would be great cheers

Could be a cv joint or the gearbox.

check the gearbox oil, if its low 5th starts to run dry

Chech the GB back mount.
Get under it and start pulling from the axels, and see If you get any noises.
