VW customer services are looking at it - been through service hstory  - asked us if we've owned previous VW cars?
Asked us how much we think we should pay towards it ! obviously was said nothing

Should know by mid week

never had any chew with corrosion claims with seat or Audi's i've owned.

Good luck.
I had our Polo fixed at silverlink they did a very good job of a job i knows a real pain, apart from they washed it afterwards. Well if you can call it washing. I had spent weeks sorting out the paint on it with full detail etc just before it went in to be fixed and they washed it with i think a brillo pad and what ever else they used that took everything off the paint and left such deep marks and dull paint worse i have ever seen on any car ever including 30 year old bangers with £50. Just luckie i was not the one that picked it up.

Hope you have better luck with VW customer service. You could point them to the thread on the other forum were people have had it fixed.

ironically i had just put coat of UV protector and a layer of FK wax when i noticed the wheel arch
Pulman's send their cars to Mill bodyshop in Boldon

Our car came from Silverlink but going through tunnel all the time is a pain

I'm more bothered about the over spray in door shuts when they can't be arsed to prep car properly

If you kick up enough fuss they will do it free of charge as after all they have a 10 year rust warranty.I have repaired loads of mk5 s for this problem.

Any news?

supposed to get it back today. The passenger wing was too far gone
so what was 3 days repair has been a week.

VW have offered to pay 80% and that was final - tried pointing out the 12 year corrosion thing but since it's actually caused by a mechanical
problem that's their get out.

i will make Pulman's sweat for the 20% - I'm going to ask for a full breakdown of hours before paying
I will not have the p155 taken out of me.

The fact it took 2 days to get wing and we had to suffer without a car will be my bonus points

When you get it back ask them if they have sealed the inner lips of the wings and wax oiled them where the arch liners rub if not I take it back because it will come back quicker.when we do them at work we grind off all the rust put a special rust eater on them, prime them inside and out them seem seal the inner lip, paint and laquer inside and out of the wing then wax oil all over the inside. Just a bit of info from a painter.
