petrol is better for revving.. it sounds better.. v6/8 have a nice grumble.. are not dirty cars.. use a better coloured pump..

diesels have always been and for the foreseeable future will be commuting and long distance cars..  I think Diesel golfs should be called GTI's are they are worthy of it now..

thing is they are getting so closely matched now tuning potential is nearly exactly the same only thing is they in my eyes are harder to work on..  If they sounded better i would of chose one instead of my 1.8t... but they sound like a tractor and on idle thats bloody annoying..

Petrol engines don't sound like tractors, are more responsive and faster revving than diesels. Name me any model that has its flagship as a diesel?
