ACC (with state of roads)
Parking sensors (that front and rear shape can be a pain to judge)
I think these are essential and I'm glad I specced both these.
There are many who extol the virtues of the rear camera. I'm not so sure. It is a nice gimmick though absolutely essential if you don't have rear sensors. The rear camera does not give a view if the rear wheels are going to be kerbed, does it? And, anyway, with the front and rear sensors, the RNS screen gives a clear picture of distances, front and rear in addition to its audible warning.
However, this did not prevent me from damaging my rear bumper as I stubbornly refused to look and listen to the sensors and take note.
I think the main problem is that the Golf has one lousy reverse light which is even less effective on the LED rears. A
Bic lighter will give more light. The kerb or road to the rear of the car is not lit at all.
Bad design.
