I changed the RCD310 to a RCD510 as the RCD310 looked awful and did not have the functionality I wanted, the blue lighting simply did not fit in the cabin.

ACC should be standard on the GTI - it is fantastic.

I think bluefin (or any decent official remap) should be a dealer option.

I think winter tyres should be a dealer option.

ACC (with state of roads)
Parking sensors (that front and rear shape can be a pain to judge)

I think these are essential and I'm glad I specced both these.

There are many who extol the virtues of the rear camera. I'm not so sure. It is a nice gimmick though absolutely essential if you don't have rear sensors. The rear camera does not give a view if the rear wheels are going to be kerbed, does it? And, anyway, with the front and rear sensors, the RNS screen gives a clear picture of distances, front and rear in addition to its audible warning.

However, this did not prevent me from damaging my rear bumper as I stubbornly refused to look and listen to the sensors and take note.

I think the main problem is that the Golf has one lousy reverse light which is even less effective on the LED rears. A Bic lighter will give more light. The kerb or road to the rear of the car is not lit at all.

Bad design.

Hope you're feeling better Asker. Happy belated birthday.

If you find the reverse light output inadequate just touch the brake pedal while reversing and this gives you all the light you will need.

Is the LED light reverse not very good??

Thank you my friend for the greeting.

The reverse light from the LED rear is worse than useless. However, I have started doing what you suggest. Crazy for a £30,000 car, don't you think?

On another subject...
I've just read this week's posts, what's the gripe with us Mk6 owners saying we like/love/enjoy our cars??

I have a wife, kids and house. I love and enjoy them all, dearly.

I also love my car.

So is the Sawridge Inn. When your in Jasper, check out the microbrewery. I spent an afternoon in there and got absolutely bladdered

I got RCD510 and front/rear sensors as options and I'm happy wth that. Hill hold came as std on the 2011MY and it's a neat little function

Last time we were here we stayed at the Sawridge, this time we are at the Astoria in the middle of town as the Sawridge is full up with Japanese

I really cannot fathom it out.

There are too many people around with an axe to grind. They might be unhappy, angry, naturally horrible, or whatever. I really don't care. You may want to feel sorry for them and/or then ignore them completely. Basically, they are not in my consideration.

I too love my car very much.
