Looking back; should have got the reversing camera.

Also should have got Luxury pack rather than Convenience Pack, but otherwise I'm very happy with it.
sssh; it's 'only a diesel'; but i love it!

Think I would add DAB radio and xenons, but it's no big deal and the car is wonderful.

I definatly wish I had the Xenons on mine.....  That's what happens when you buy a car and then discover theres a GTI forum full of information and advice afterwards!

As some of you have pointed out, you wouldn't have minded a sunroof. Well I have a sunroof on mine and with much smugness I can confirm its one of my favoutite features on the car. It breaks up the roof on the GTI very nicely and is tinted to perfection to match the rear windows.

The only other thing I would change on mine is those bloody cherry rear lights for the LED type. But as I've got a service and new tyres to pay out for soon this retrofit is on the list of things to do at the moment

With regard to a Golf R?? Ummmm.... yes I would have liked a Golf R in hindsight. But my bank manager (and the wife) would have prefered not!

NO OFFENCE but
I always knew that if you're purchasing a new model then leave it a year or two to get the updated one, in our case the GTi with the rear LED's etc !

One option I wish I went for is the ACC, as driving 65 miles a day (mainly A or M roads) on a stiff suspension can get tiresome !

Bought mine 2nd hand, most important for me was a 5 door DSG.

Camera, shadows and RCD 510 were added bonus.

Would have been happy without leather but bluetooth, cruise, xenons, nav, ACC & DAB would have been nice but you can't have everything!

And no offence taken.... Your spot on mate regarding waiting a year or two with regard to update models. I would do that next time. However LED's are a fairly new thing on all makes and models of cars and tbo I didn't evenm think of them when I brought the car. Oh well at least the rears are fairly upgradable.

I guess most of us are pretty happy with the spec of our cars but it is great to have the services of certain technically minded people on the forum like Darren and Steve, Doc and Snoops etc who have given their time and incredible knowledge to enable some of us to have retrofitted kit which would have cost a fortune through the dealers.

Thanks guys you are the best.
