what you really want is this

it means you lose the changer/in dash cd player but why would you want it when you have the ipod anyway??

But that is neither easiest or cheapest.

yes its not the cheapest but theres a good reason for that...
its the best sounding and controls the ipod from the stereo

I would go with "troublestarters" option. I would have said the same thing. These FM transmitters are good for vehicles wher a line in or direct input is no option.

Alternatively, similar to what "troublestarter" has posted, you can get similar piece of kit that just allows for a LINE IN as of supposed to direct ipod input. of course the drawbacks are, you stil have to control ipod from the ipod itself and you have to have battery power as it dont charge it....the direct one is designed to charge it aswel so it does certainly have its perks. Of course there have been issues with charging for the likes of ipod touch and iphones but am certain there are remedies for this. I read you can get an adaptor to plug onto the end of the ipod dock cable to give a similar ipod end which then allows charging of the newer ipods
Why pay big bucks when you can do it yourself???
