Forum search solves frozen pipe but ...

In this cold weather my rear wash packed up and even after the thaw there was no water getting to the rear screen. I tried all the blockages etc. that I knew about but to no avail. However, a search of this brilliant forum told me to check adjacent to the rear light cluster – found the blown joint and sorted it – excellent.

BUT, I am now concerned that I have half a gallon of washer fluid sitting in a hidden well in the body ready to rust away.

Someone tell me that there is a drain hole in there that will allow the washer fluid to find its way to the outside of the car – please!

the drain hole is under the spare wheel (I think) so I would pull up the carpests and take the spare out and just give it a dry...

Just In case the hole is blocked..

Same thing happened to my rear washer last week! The pipe came apart behind the rear light and my washer fluid kept dissapearing overnight, Lucky there is a drain hole under the spare wheel mate

Get some tubing from B&Q etc...

Attach to an empty washing up bottle and suck it out.

As above but if it's not drained on its own then its probably just blocked up so give it a good clean.

The point is that the join in the pipe is such that it can't leak into the spare wheel well - that would be easy to spot!! It leaks to the side of the rear wing down into the depths that are invisible. I hadn't noticed any fluid dripping out below the car  so that is why I was concerned that it was still in there. I will have a better look sometime but in the meantime will go with Thom since that is tha answer I was hoping for???

Unless someone can confirm or otherwisee the presence of a drain.
