Just failed its MOT on a couple of things and I'd like to know if its possible for a "moderately handy with a spanner" bloke as me to sort.

Off side rear wheel bearing has excessive play.
Brake load sensing valve linkage seized.

Your thoughts please.

Wheel bearing is not that hard but easier with a press. You can strip it all down yourself, take the disc to the garage, get them to press the bearing in and then re-assemble it yourself.

The load sensing valve often frees up with some lubricant and a good hammering!

You may be able to adjust up the rear wheel bearing, worth a try before replacing.
With the brake pressure regulator, cover it in wd40, and hit it with a rubber mallet unit the lever moves freely.

rear bearing is tapered (you don't need a press) if you remove the metal cap and sur clip, then just turn the nut half a turn that should sort it.

aye its tapered, wont need a press (thats the front ones) but if replacing you may need to ease the new ones in with a suitably sized socket to ensure they sit properly.

I always do wheel bearings in pairs too.. They're not hard or expensive, and if one's gone the other won't be far behind...

As already mentioned, they might just need adjustment.
