I've always used a battery conditioner on previous cars if they aren't used for a week or so. With the recent bad spell of weather I was about to hook up the charger in situ, but read the manual that warns against charging the battery, leaving it only for a "qualified VW technician"
Anyone think this is overkill or a valid warning?
As it happens with the better weather, I had it on a 60 mile round trip yesterday and today so unecessary, but I'm still curious. When I check Elsawin, it tells you about charging the battery using various types of VW chargers, one of which doesn't look much different to mine.
