Though this is an attractive enhancement, I personally would not bother as there are the risks I mentioned earlier.

Most of our streets and homes are pretty well lit so their usefulness especially in town would be marginal.

However, in places like the third world, where much of the pavement (if they exist) and road is littered with all sorts of disgusting waste, I can see the benefit.

But then again can one have too much light on the roadside/pavement at night?

Next to no street lighting where I live or where I work.  You'll be surprised at how much they light up the immediate area around the door.  Also it makes it easier for others to see when your door is opened

I see your point.

It can be especially useful for older passengers. If their brightness is as great as you profess, then, yes, they would be worthwhile. However, I still worry about the removal and re-fitting of the door cards and any associated clip breakages.

Its a straightforward job.  You just got to take your time and work methodically.  Don't panic and don't get frustrated

I must eat humble pie and admit that this would be an essential safety and hygienic feature.

You see, I just stepped into some dog pooh as I alighted from my car in Chelsea.

I just popped the red reflector off to find there is no wiring etc behind but they seem to be capable of taking light fittings - I'll look into it further -  thanks for the direction Rhyso

No probs mate   I assume they use the same lights as my Audi.  Whether or not the pins for the wiring are the same I wouldn't know but I do have the pin locations should you need them  :nerd:

It does give the car that premium effect/look IMO. A good style and safety enhancement. It is something you will notice/see every time you drive it, which makes it worthwhile. Very, very nice. I really do like it.

More money.
