consistency, if you're using the same flash units then it's easier to balance the them e.g. 1/2 power on a Nissan wont be the same as 1/2 power on a sigma.

Ideally you'd want them all the same that way you've got a backup for on camera if your main one fail, but hey on here we're not made of money.

Ah yes true, colour temperatures differ as well.

Bit of a dig up. T J G What did you go for in the end? The Nissin Di622? I've been Having a look trying to work out the differences. Its to go on my D3000 they are down at 90quid now.

Yeah went for the Di622 mkII and It does what I want. If I was in the Market for another Nissin I wouldn't order from HK as it may not be genuine, and hat happens if it develops a fault?

Also just bought a Yongnuo YN460 for another off camera flash

I'm looking at flashes right now, found a couple of cheap Sigma's on ebay that will do the job.
Mainly it's the EF530 DG ST I'm looking at which is the cheaper version, it's only really lacking the ability to trigger an extra flash compared to the EF530 DG Super, but I can live with that. Both have a Guide Number of 53 but you can find the DG ST for less than £100 on the bay. The Sigmas do iTTL and auto-zoom even on the cheaper DG ST.
The newest model from Sigma is the EF610 DG ST for about £140 (here) or DG Super around £230. But that's still cheaper than a Canon 580EX II.
