Fuel pump relay mk2 1.8v pb digifant
« on: 22 December 2010, 10:21 »
Needed a fuel pump relay and went to a local parts suppier and he supplied me with a similar relay that fits ok and seems to have the same diagram stampped on it but its marked 428. Now my cars dies and refuses to start and Ive googled the part number 1J0 906 381B but the relay seems to be for a 1998 beetle etc and not even a pump relay. Will this be a problem do ya think cos its doing me nut in now..not sure if thats the reason for the car not starting cos I have other issuses with it

Have a search on here, im sure theres a method to bridge the pins where the relay goes to rule out whether its a relay or not.

generally fp relay are 67, 80 or 167, can be found on mk2 digi/16v and any petrol mk3.

as above, get a jumper wire and put it between the 2 large pins on the relay socket, fuel pump should fire up and run constant. if car still doesnt start the problem is elsewhere
