how much do half decent Syncros go for ??

Difficult to say.

Buy off-scene and less than a GTI.

Buy on-scene and it seems you're now up for a proper skewering due to the genuine rareness of them.

It is, naturally the wrong season to be buying a Syncro - you need to buy when it's dry and sunny and hot.

LHD 3 & 5 door.

RHD 5 door only.

Not difficult to convert LHD to RHD

That syncro's been on fleebay twice too. Was up for £5500 and think for that price its worth doing it yourself. Syncro's are the way to go but pricey, mine was over a grand !!! and listen to the diamond !!!
I bought a UK vr (£450) to strip and swap, now I've got to get a syncro vr box for Germany £250-£350 plus postage and then a rear diff also from Germany £150-£200 plus postage the list goes on !!!
If you do want a mk2 vr6 syncro monster(350bhp+), buy a mk3 vr6 syncro from Germany put a turbo on it and keep the rest of your money for tyres, fuel and insurance !!! (and a massive roll cage )
