Abandoned my GTI

FFS I had to abandon my car a couple of miles from my house. We have had today which I can only describe as a dusting of snow which has completely frozen over to sheet ice. I got stuck along with a load of other cars trying to get up a steep hill. I had absolutely no traction so I just had to park up. I'm worrying now that someone going to come sliding down the hill and straight into my car. Oh well can't do much about it really.

Martin: You got the black Monza Shadows for the winter. Why or why did you not buy some winter tyres?
For Gawd's sake, buy a set. Any set and get moving, please.
I'll even help you to source these for old time's sake.

My car is still in the bodyshop, keeping warm and safe for the time being.

It is quite traumatic to abandon one's car and I really feel for him. Not a very enjoyable situation and extremely worrying to boot.

I'm not even sure winter tyres would have got me up this hill tbo it was an absolute nightmare (but I'm sure the winter tyre brigade will tell me different).

I'm not knocking winters by the way... I'll just have to budget for them next year as its a bit late now! Roll on xmas and then the summer

i'd be having a very restless nights sleep if it was me, would be so pi55ed off to have to leave it man almost traumatic!
